Blowin' In the Wind...

This is a fantastic article.  There have been very few times where I have found an article I was fully able to focus on, connect, and read the entire thing, but this was definitely one of them.

I’ll admit it. Yes, I am a women, but no…I’m not a massive feminist. I feel much of feminism has gone a little overboard and targetting issues that are not as detrimental to equality. But on a daily basis I still do see, and feel it.  Being judged by coworkers in the workplace, people at school making jokes, past relationships, even just random strangers on the street making the random comment that stings you on the inside. And tho it’s a slight sting…you think it’s nothing and your too sensitive..just get over it.

Reading this made me remember how much effect things that others say can have on you. The manipulation that a string of words can have without you…or sometimes even others noticing consiously.  Now this article deals entirely with women…and it’s entirely true. I’ve experienced it multiple times, so I found it incredibly comforting to read.  Please, if you have some time, give it a read though…a skim even…and let yourself think about the things you say to people, regardless of gender.  You may be discouraging others without even noticing it…I know it’s made me think twice.

The one thing I love most about frosh week is the random dancing. No matter where you are, what time it is, or the activity someone is ALWAYS dancing.  So….once the week is finished and I still hear all those songs I suddenly know dance routines to…this guy pretty much resembles exactly what I feel like.  The lone person dancing still at a bus stop.
